The African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) is now accepting applications for its 2026 Young Professionals Programme. This career development initiative is designed to equip talented young African graduates with practical work experience and professional training in the field of intellectual property and related administrative functions.

The programme offers structured workplace learning opportunities for participants from different academic backgrounds whose qualifications align with intellectual property systems, innovation management, technology, and organizational administration. Through hands-on assignments and mentorship, successful candidates will build relevant technical and professional skills while contributing to economic and institutional development within their home countries.

Programme Eligibility (Nationality)

Applicants must be citizens of one of the following ARIPO member states:

Botswana, Cape Verde, Kingdom of Eswatini, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Kingdom of Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Academic Requirements

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines:

Business Studies or Business Administration
Law
Business Analytics, Project Management, or Strategy
Telecommunications

The degree must have been completed within the last five years at the time of application.

Age Requirement

Applicants must be 28 years old or younger on the application deadline date.

Key Skills and Competencies

Successful candidates should demonstrate:

Strong planning and analytical abilities
Effective problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal competence
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Creative thinking and innovation
Digital and computer literacy
High proficiency in written and spoken English

Programme Benefits and Employment Conditions

Participants in the ARIPO Young Professionals Programme will receive the following benefits:

A monthly stipend of US$2,500
A one-time settling-in allowance equivalent to one month’s stipend upon appointment
Fully funded travel to the host country at the start of the programme and return travel upon completion
Medical insurance coverage (80% funded by ARIPO and 20% by the participant)
Entitlement to annual leave, sick leave, and compassionate leave
Group life insurance, funeral, and accident coverage
A one-time repatriation grant equivalent to one month’s stipend at the end of the programme
