The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), has announced the Enterprising Futures Scholarship for 2026. This prestigious initiative is designed for young, impactful entrepnterprising Futures Scholarship 2026 for Young Entrepreneursreneurs from emerging markets, including Nigeria and other African nations, who are leading scalable businesses with a focus on social or environmental progress. Successful applicants will travel to Cape Town, South Africa, to participate in the One Young World Summit 2026. This summit is a global gathering of over 2,000 young leaders from 190+ countries, aimed at fostering innovation and solving the world’s most pressing challenges.

Eligibility

To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Age: Be between 18 and 35 years old by the time of the Summit in November 2026.
  • Role: Be an entrepreneur or a leading member of a scalable start-up or Small to Medium-sized Enterprise (SME).
  • Impact: Demonstrate a clear social or environmental impact through your business activities.
  • Nationality/Residency: Be a national and resident of one of the eligible countries (Nigeria is included).
  • Language: Possess a high level of proficiency in English, as the summit and all related programs are conducted in English.
  • Availability: Be available to participate full-time in the pre-programme, the Summit, and post-programme activities between late October and early November 2026.

Benefits

The Enterprising Futures Scholarship is a fully-funded opportunity that covers:

  • Summit Access: Full participation in the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town.
  • Travel: Round-trip economy flights from your country of residence to Cape Town, including domestic travel costs to the airport.
  • Accommodation: Hotel stay during the pre-programme and the Summit dates.
  • Catering: All meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) during the duration of the program.
  • Logistics: Local transport between the accommodation and the Summit venue.
  • Visa Support: Reimbursement of visa application fees and coverage for one night of hotel stay if required for a visa appointment.
  • Networking: Lifetime membership to the One Young World Ambassador Community and access to exclusive Dutch MFA events.

Application Steps

  • Online Application: Visit the official One Young World scholarship portal to access the application form.
  • Prepare Documentation: Ensure you have details of your business, its impact metrics, and your leadership experience ready.
  • Questionnaire: Complete the application questions focusing on your entrepreneurial journey and how the summit will help you scale your impact.
  • Review and Submit: Submit your application before the closing date. Only applications submitted through the official portal will be considered.

Deadlines

The application deadline for the Enterprising Futures Scholarship 2026 is March 9, 2026. Candidates are encouraged to apply early to ensure all documentation is in order.
