Are you a recent graduate in Nigeria looking to kickstart your career with professional experience and a monthly stipend? Applications are now officially open for the 2026 Lagos State Government Graduate Internship Placement Program (GIPP).

This initiative is a strategic career development bridge designed to help young professionals transition seamlessly from the classroom to the boardroom. Through a combination of high-impact training and a three-month paid placement, the GIPP equips you with the tools needed to thrive in the modern Nigerian economy.

About the GIPP Initiative

The GIPP is more than just a job placement; it is a comprehensive capacity-building program. The journey begins with intensive training in both technical and soft skills, ensuring you are “work-ready” before stepping into a professional environment.

Following the training phase, successful candidates are placed in reputable organizations across various sectors to gain three months of hands-on experience. The program focuses on bridging the gap between theoretical academic knowledge and the practical demands of the global workforce.

Key Benefits for Participants

Selected interns will enjoy a robust suite of professional advantages:

  • Paid Internship Placement: Earn while you learn during your three-month tenure.
  • Professional Skill Development: Training in high-demand areas like Emotional Intelligence, Personal Branding, and Communication.
  • Networking Opportunities: Build connections with industry leaders and fellow professionals.
  • Career Support: Receive free CV reviews, interview preparation tips, and career coaching.
  • Certification: Gain a certificate of participation and skill acquisition from the Lagos State Government.

Eligibility Criteria: Who Should Apply?

To ensure the program reaches the right demographic of early-career professionals, applicants must satisfy the following:

  • Academic Qualification: Must hold a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc./B.A./B.Ed. etc.) in any field of study.
  • NYSC Status: Must have successfully completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program (Discharge certificate required).
  • Experience Level: Designed for those with 0–3 years of post-NYSC work experience.
  • Residency: Must possess a valid Lagos State Resident Registration Agency (LASRRA) card.

Application Process & Documentation

The selection process is competitive. To improve your chances, ensure you have the following ready before starting your application:

  1. Updated Professional CV.
  2. Scanned copy of your NYSC Discharge Certificate.
  3. Your LASRRA Registration details.
  4. A valid means of identification.

Application Deadline

The portal for the 2026 GIPP cycle will close on:

10 April 2026

Early application is highly recommended, as the program often receives a high volume of entries.
