The South African Fulbright Foreign Student Program is a premier academic exchange opportunity that allows South African university graduates to pursue postgraduate studies in the United States. This fully funded scholarship is designed for individuals looking to obtain a Master’s or PhD degree at a top-tier American institution. Eligibility

  • Applicants must be South African citizens or permanent residents.
  • Candidates must have completed a four-year bachelor’s degree, an honors degree, or a master’s degree by the time of departure.
  • Applicants for the Master’s track should not have previously studied in the United States.
  • Doctoral candidates must be currently registered at a South African university to apply for the non-degree “Visiting Student Researcher” track.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a high level of academic excellence and leadership potential.
  • Applicants must be committed to returning to South Africa upon completion of their studies.
