The QS Impact Skills Challenge 2026 is an international competition that encourages students to solve real-world problems through innovation and practical skills. Participants are tasked with creating a project or solution that aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This challenge is a great platform for Nigerian students to gain global recognition for their social impact projects while competing for a significant cash prize. It emphasizes critical thinking, project management, and cross-cultural collaboration.

Eligibility

The challenge is open to the following:

  • Current university students or recent graduates (within one year) from around the world.
  • Individuals or teams of up to five members.
  • Projects must demonstrate a tangible impact in one of the SDG categories.
  • Submissions must include a project plan and a video demonstration.

Benefits

Participants and winners receive the following:

  • A cash prize of 2,000 USD for the winning project.
  • Official certificates of achievement recognized by QS and global employers.
  • Opportunities to showcase the project to a global audience of students and recruiters.
  • Access to specialized workshops and webinars on impact leadership.
  • Networking opportunities with a global community of change-makers.

Application Steps

To enter the 2026 challenge:

  • Register your team on the QS Impact website.
  • Choose a specific SDG that your project addresses.
  • Submit a detailed project proposal, including goals, methodology, and results.
  • Upload a short video pitch (3 minutes or less) explaining the significance of your work.
  • Submit all materials before the competition closing date.

Deadlines

  • Submission Deadline: May 30, 2026.
  • Winner Announcement: July 2026.
